Farooq Mirza Summer League 2026 Wraps Up — Winchester Wizards Crowned Champions

The Farooq Mirza Summer League 2026 season has drawn to a close, with East and West Division teams competing across a packed summer of fixtures before a final decided the overall champions. The league is named in memory of its founder, Farooq Mirza, who sadly passed away.

West Division — Winchester Pip Totton by a Single Point

It doesn't get much closer than this. Winchester Wizards topped the six-team West Division with 131 points from their 10 matches, just one point ahead of Totton Trickshots on 130. Wykeham Wanderers, Trojans Terriers and Trojans Titans were all within a handful of points of each other in the chasing pack, making for a genuinely competitive division from top to bottom.

Petersfield Pistons took second spot, edging out Chichester Courtiers and Nuffield Nuggets in a tight scrap for the minor places, highlighted by a 15–9 win over Chichester.

The Final — Winchester Wizards Crowned Champions

Full fixtures, results, and match detail are available on the Summer League site.

A Fitting Send-Off for George Kousseff

The season closed with a presentation evening bringing together players from every club and division. It was a fitting final act for George Kousseff, who presented the trophies as League Organiser after nine years of dedicated service to Hampshire Squash before stepping down — with Tony Johnson from Totton now taking over the leagues, having already done excellent work setting up the new season on SportyHQ.
